This is the first appearance of AEGIS -- this world's version of UNTIL from Champions, except they are run by NATO rather than the UN.

Do they have a stone-based brick on-call for superhero support?

I like the notion of The Rock of AEGIS. ^_^

Lol! I like that!

As super villains go, he is not evil. Just ... fixated? lol

Run by NATO? That would limit their authority to just those signatories right?

Is there another group for the rest of the world? I would imagine Russia and China use their own agencies as they are super powers in their own right, but the rest of the world?

Nato has full signatories, global partners, and partners for peace. Combined this covers about half the world (give or take). Full signatories get garrison bases. Partners get outposts which have less men and equipment.

Non-member nations do not get AEGIS teams stationed there.

See the 'world' page (scroll down to the bottom) for the AEGIS entry, which I just added now that we have seen them in person. Thanks for reminding me.

AEGIS means "shield" so that makes sense. The uniforms do remind me of UNTIL now that you mention it. I haven't played Champions in months...

If they look like the Champions Online uniforms, that is a coincidence (I have played that game, but long ago and no longer remember much of it). When I refer to Champions material I am exclusively referring to the pen and paper version, circa 1982.

However, this uniform is a standard one from DAZ, so I didn't design it. I thought it looked right so I chose it for their uniform.

I see you like Captain Dawson. ;)

She will be around in the future.

Originally all 3 agents were scripted as guys -- I dunno why, that's just how I pictured 'em. But it turned out I had a lot more spare female G2F models than male G2M, so I decided to make the main AEGIS agent female. It'll say on the credits page in a few weeks, but this is the Ariadne model for G2F. If you like her that much you can always buy her and DL her yourself. ;)

Yep, she's probably already in my library; I just have to find the time....

Okay, I'm sufficiently calmed down now, haha!

So there's something else of interest on this page, that I only picked up upon re-reading. That's Abbey's surprise that he's NOT going to the high-security prison, but instead that he's going to a "mere" mental hospital someplace.

On one hand, Abbey thinks naturally that he should be locked up, and she's surprised that he won't really be punished (not really, if you think about it). It may seem unfair because, after all, this was a challenge for her, even if he ended up being something of a pushover at the end of it all.

On the other hand, maybe this guy really SHOULD go under tighter wraps. After all, he got access to weapons and a flight suit. So he's not a complete headcase and THAT could make him dangerous in the future.

Even moreso if the biased media gets ahold of this and goes after Liberty Lass for striking a mentally ill person. In the face, no less! For shame, for shame! [/sarcasm]

This could possibly impact how effectively (or ineffectively) future interactions go for Abbey or anybody else having to deal with this guy or others with similar scrambled eggs.

Good page.

Lots of villains aren't fully sane. Homewrecker really isn't either -- she's similar to a pyromaniac but with smashing instead of burning things.

And in regular comics, Joker, Penguin, Doc Ock, Green Goblin -- most of 'em aren't all there.

What determines mental hospital vs. the fortress isn't sanity -- it's power level. Without his suit and gadgets Capey has zero powers. Everything he's got, in Champions terms, is OIF or OAF.
