I've always loved characters who can grow giant. This one is modeled after a villain my friend Rob created during his Champions GMing days, of the same name (Mountain Man). The original MM was only about 9 feet tall but I wanted something much more dramatic for this villain.

Side note: I decided to change the coloring of the autobiographical narration boxes for Abby. It's a pain in the neck to keep changing the font color on every single box, plus one or two readers complained the white on blue was a little hard to read. So I have gone with white boxes, black narration, and then a gradient red-blue background to retain the patriotic colors.

He looks to be 30-40 feet tall.

Keep in mind that a 30' man with standard build is going to about 25,000 pounds - that's 12.5 tons.

At 40', that's about 60,000 pounds - 30 tons.

That's without assuming any kind of increased bone density, etc, etc. The street should probably be taking damage when he steps on it - when he heel hits the ground, he's putting the weight of an 18 wheeler on an area of about 2 square feet.

There will be some destruction in the coming pages... but no footprints in the asphalt. Mostly because there's no easy (or even hard) way to do that with this type of 3D set.

And yeah he's about 30 feet tall. According to 4th edition Champions this would require roughly 35 pts of growth, which amounts to 12.8 tons mass. Also gives him +35 STR and -6 Knockback. ;)

Actually... There is an easy way to have your giant leave footprints in the asphalt. Visit ShareCG -dot- com (a great place for free 3D models) and do a search for "Giantess Road Potholes". After finding it, check the side bar for other giant-themed props and poses by the same artist, including "Giantess Intersection", "Giantess Build" and "Giantess Building 2".

There are various giant poses, too, such as "V4 Giantess Stomp". I'm guessing that your model is Genesis or some flavor of Michael. But poses are often interchangable, though they sometimes require some tweaking to look right.

I do hope you can make use of these. As Deoxy points out, he's a big boy and is going to weigh in the neighborhood of 10 to 30 tons. So it would seem weird if he did not leave cracked pavement and/or footprints. Maybe we'll get to see him damage a building, too? And since he's already barefoot, perhaps the "Giantess Feet" morph could be used to deform his huge feet a little?

This issue has already been rendered and uploaded, so there is unfortunately no way I can make any changes to it at this stage.

Additionally this is a Generation 7 figure. Nothing for V4 or V5 will work with it without significant effort. You don't see his feet enough in this issue that I would have wanted to put forth that effort.

Finally, anything that old is guaranteed to be made for use with 3DeLight and not Iray. I already had to do major tweaking to this set to make it Iray compatible... it takes a lot of work. That's one reason why I chose to re-use it (this is the same set I used for the Homewrecker battle) although there is a story-based reason that will become apparent in future issues.

I don't think damaging the road is required, or anything (it's ok how it is, really), and that wasn't my point, it's just common that people don't realize how insanely massive a person that size would actually be.

That said, for footprints, it shouldn't be too hard to just at a texture of cracks, right? That would be sufficient to give the idea of mass without getting too crazy.

I suppose I could have textured cracks. I didn't think of it at the time, and it's too late now.

Next time she fights a giant I will try to remember to add cracks.

In Champions, I used to RP a giant snake, with growth and stretch both always on. We did Snakes on a Plane well before the movie came out.

That's the character model I chose... I had nothing to do with that other than putting him in the scene. Ivan 7, I believe.

I like them better too so they are staying around for now. It took me a long time to figure out how to do the gradients like that in Manga Studio -- not to do them at all but to do them so they will be consistent from box to box. That part was a struggle. But I think I have it down now.

It does solve the red-white-blue problem, since the previous boxes were only white-blue.
