And now we finally see who the mysterious woman from issue #4 is, and what she is up to. I tried a lot of different names for this character, before settling on this one. It's grown on me, though it's still not perfect. Too many of the other ones I came up with have already been taken by DC or Marvel, though, and I wanted something completely original. 'Nightchantress' has the virtue of being original, if nothing else.

Drain the light? Does that mean turn her evil?

Looks like a cool villain.

Oh, yeah. I went to school with her. Yup, she's totally evil.

I dated her in my 20s. All I'll say is that one man's evil is another man's "oh my". :)

But why do magic spells have to rhyme, in English? Prophecies, yes, but spells?

Summoning spells have to rhyme. If they don't, the creature you are summoning will lose respect for you. ;) j/k

Well, the rhyming thing isn't the worst bit. I just saw an old Batman: The Animated Series episode where they had Etrigan wearing shorts and a cape. Robin's outfit actually looked slightly more useful. What, couldn't his master(s) afford to get him a sturdy pair of Levis?

Seems like it would be useful to have a couple more of those - it seems like it costs her little-to-nothing to summon it, so why not?

Of course, that's typically how villains are... that, and we don't know how powerful just one is.

All magic has limits. She can't just summon an army of them or she already would have.
