Nigthchantress, it turns out, is powerful and terrifying, and more than happy to fight with and kill superheroes or law enforcement. But she generally does not go after defenseless people, which is lucky for TJ. He would not have been so lucky if it were Kludge calling the shots, I suspect.

I agree about Kludge. He simply removes all potential inconveniences. And a person who has knowledge of Kludge's activities is an inconvenience.

Lady, you have a very sick idea of what is merciful. You were going to make that girl live out her life in a coma. Sounds worse than death to me.

Catspaw. The power was all in the sceptre. I give you all one guess where that reference is from. ;)

Anyway, I wonder what might happen to Nightchantress if her sceptre is shattered?

The power in the scepter is not a conscious reference to anything in particular.

I work out all my characters' powers in Champions terms to make sure I am consistent from scene to scene with them. In this case, the Scepter is an Obvious Accessible Focus.

I should have said that the reference was mine. The sceptre just made me think of it.

I may be a sick puppy, but I was hoping for a "Curses, foiled again!" moment from NC, as she retreated to fight another day...

Well, there's still hope! after all, good Arch-Rivals are hard to find!
