We're getting very close to the heart of the matter now. I enjoyed doing this part, although I had to re-write it a bunch of times to get it the way I wanted it. And on top of that, trying to continue introducing variety into a scene with very limited character and camera position possibilities was extremely challenging. I'm not unhappy with it, but there are things I probably could have done a little better.

"Murica! Hells yeah!"
Seriously though, I love these last few pages. You have to believe that you are fighting for the greatest cause to be a true superhero, and Liberty Lass is representing the greatest country on earth.

Thanks, DJ. Glad you like it.

Abby is very patriotic, yes.. but also this is the tone one would get in the old 1970s comics I grew up on. Which I am trying to replicate without being *too* 70s about it stylistically. It is a tough balancing act.

I just realized - Liberty Man has a *rotary dial* telephone - wow, he really is old fashioned! Either that, or he needs to move to a better quality facility ;)

The guy is in his 90s, so yeah he is old-fashioned. ;)

More modern phones will make their appearance, and in fact one already has -- the girl Abby saved in issue #1 had a smartphone. :)

Wow! Do they still work?

Have been enjoying these pages. Got to like a girl who runs towards the fire.

Hehe. Towards the fire, literally.

Yes rotary phones still work. You have to set it up specially with the phone company, I think.

But this is Liberty Man. The guy was a superhero for 40+ years. He probably saved the phone company 11 or 12 times over the years and has lifetime free service as a result. ;)

"The founding fathers gave birth to a nation where EVERYONE could be free"

Well, apart from all the slaves that they owned. Maybe Abby's history skillz aren't quite what they're cracked up to be.

Lovin' the comic though.

Glad you like the comments.

Couple of points. First, Liberty Man said those words, not Abby. Second, the statement is literally true. It didn't happen in 1776, or for many years afterwards, but they did give birth to a nation where everyone is now free.
