This is the back cover. Finally after 2 issues, we get to see Abby in her Liberty Lass identity, fighting an actual supervillain. This is the last render I did using the default Uber iRay textures. In issue 3, the newer/better shaders had started to come out and I converted a lot of stuff over, most particularly Abby's skin and hair.

We are a couple of weeks early on this due to some double updates. I did this because issue 3 ran a couple of pages long, so to fit it in by the end of the year I needed some extra updates. Enjoy.

It's ok, Centcomm is a big girl, she can take it without having to resort to playing with My Little Pony dolls.
And it has to be said, the Chrome *do* look nice. :)

Actually there are even better shaders out now than the ones I used in issue 2 and 3.... so iRay stuff is getting better and better.

Issue 3 has some better shaders, especially skin for LL and her friends. Issue 4 has the best ones for skin and I finally have everyone from 3DeLight reconverted. Previews of the new shaders will be visible in the TWC incentives, assuming that has started working again (Deena from this week is on the new shaders, for instance).

It's pretty cool how quickly 3D graphics for the consumer is moving along.
Stuff that was only for the absolute professionals, like Industrial Light & Magic, is now commonplace.
It's pretty amazing. :)

Heck yeah.

Unbiased rendering used to require (potentially expensive) add-ons like Reality/Luxrender or Octane. Now it comes free with DAZ and your existing (high end) nVidia card. It makes life soooo much easier, at least for me.

And compare skin textures from something like V3 to V7, in close-up shots... it really is mind-blowing. One of these days the renders will get so good you won't be able to tell it's not real.

Thanks guys.

As aggravating as that cape is to control in DAZ, it's worth it most of the time. It always adds a little motion to the scene.

Is that the supercape for Genesis? Would it help to have one for G3, or is it just a beast no matter what?
Steven-Vincent 19th Jun 2016, 11:30 PM edit delete reply

It is the Supercape for Genesis. It does not work well with G2, so it is parented to her shoulders but not autofit to her (it messes up badly if you do that). I don't know if there is a G3 one but since Abby is G2 it would not help much.

But even on a Genesis figure there are certain things the cape doesn't do well. It's a bear no matter what.

I was really hoping that the boots would be flexible enough for her to point her toes. The back cover alleviates some of my concern.

It's a little odd to see Superman in the old comics and even the 60s television show never point his toes even a little bit when in flight. Spiderman always did, but then he's just wearing underoos, right? ;)

Yes, she can point her toes. I don't know how much you'll see her do that in issue 3 but she does it a lot in issue 4, about half of which takes place in mid-air.
