As I think I mentioned elsewhere over the last year or so, this issue's story came to me as a dream - literally, I woke up from dreaming it laughing, and said, 'I have to write this story.' This is the scene I remembered most vividly upon waking up... C.H. yanking her cape from her back.

What do you think LL is going to do in response? :)

Now starts the punching!

I think it will take her a few seconds to react and a chase will ensue.

Well those are both good guesses... punching and chasing. :)

She'll scratch her head too.

She should make him split those trousers of his. He's about to burst out of them anyway. That's one of the top things that will end any fight.

- A punch in the kisser (even the best-laid plan gets changed after the first hard punch in the face)

- Getting pants'd or splitting one's pant crotch (NOBODY can be suave when there's a sudden breeze in their nether regions)

- Take his cell phone away. That will distract ANYBODY in this day and age. If you ever get attacked, just take the attacker's smartphone and throw it as far as you can. He WILL go after it, and he may even let go of your cape to do it.

Capey has definitely gained some weight over the years. He very well might split... something.

having said that, I am sure if he had allowed her to finish she would have said Polyester and he would have gone "Eww! take it back!"

Heh.

Nope, she was going to say it's a custom fabric made by Odo Dupre. She doesn't know what the fabric's composition is. Nobody does. It's how Odo stays in business. ;)

I'd avoid mentioning my supplier's name. Loose lips will get your batmobile hot-wired, for sure. Maybe even while you're driving it on a rocky outcropping.

He actually said, "Yoink"?

That's the best part of this week's dialogue!

I just realized that LL's cape and skirt are different shades of blue. I like that design decision.

The old serise "Lois and Clark" had Superman's cape and boots different shades of red. The boots were darker, almost a maroon, and the cape was brighter, more like a crimson. I liked that decision too.
Steven-Vincent 25th Mar 2017, 2:04 PM edit delete reply

Actually, they are the exact same color, based on CMYK values. Exactly the same.

The reason they look different is that the skirt is made of a velvety material and the cape is more of a cotton-like material (CH is an expert hence why he asked), and so they reflect the sunlight differently.

In some lighting regimes they look more similar than in others.

By the same token the boots and gloves are the same color (off-white) but reflect light differently, as does the belt. Because they are made of different materials. Depending on the lighting regime, they will reflect, bounce, and so on the light in different ways.

I'm sorry, but this loon is just too goofy/kewl to be a "one and done" villain!

My money is on LL recruiting him as her sidekick!

Heheh.

We'll have to see what happens by the end. :)

I will say, CH definitely grew on me as I did this issue .

I can see a certain kind of appeal ... but this is Liberty Lass' book. In the end, I am sure he will cape-itulate. ^_^

Such a bad pun should be a cape-ital crime...

Oh... boy.

Am I going to have to make up a villain named The Punster or something now? I mean you guys seem to like puns maybe I should... cape-italize.
Fafhred 28th Mar 2017, 11:27 AM edit delete reply
Fafhred
You know the saying 'If you cannot beat them, join them' xD
This would be cape-letly understandable.
Rigor 29th Mar 2017, 12:01 AM edit delete reply
But since The Collector has identified himself as a villain, LL is likely to instead say, "If you can't join 'em, beat 'em!"

As to "the punster," I prefer Sarcastro, whose (ineffective) power was his biting sarcasm (The Tick original series, season 3 IIRC).

He's gone too far, this time! Taking liberties with Liberty Lass, by liberating Liberty's luxurious luxury? Robbing a minor by disrobing her is a major offense!

If she responds by giving him a super-powered kick in the groin, they'll both have committed an indecent assault. (I apologize, if it seems I'm taking such serious crimes lightly. I was just thinking about how eyewitnesses could interpret this, and what the authorities could charge him with. Also, I have a habit of writing everything in punishing puns or rhymes against nature.)

----------

So high up above,
He latched onto his love,
Not the lass, but the cape from his caper

Alack and alas,
It will go back to Lass,
Once her boot, from behind, kicks his... mass

Tears, he'll be oozing,
New town, he'll be choosing,
For, his capes and jetpack, he'll be losing
