OK, be honest... you didn't really think Cape-Hoarder had any real powers did you? :)

Turns out he has quite a few. Some tied into the suit, some into his gadgets.

Considering her powers, I am surprised that a hit made her body move that way; that would mean a hitting power on the same scale as her own super physical resistance...

Well, Homewrecker sent her flying in issue 3. As Abby noted back then, she's not immune from the laws of physics. Also in that same issue, Homewrecker's punches made her head snap back and so forth. This is not all that different.

Or to put it in Champions terms, LL still takes some KB, whether the attack exceeds her PD/ED or not.

Youth always underestimate the experienced. She'll be more careful the next time.

That is a good point.

He did say a few pages back "I am not without powers." Now she sees what he meant.

Oh! A cheap shot. He's gonna regret that.

Well, she did ask him to show her what the hard way was. ;)

Nicely done with the effects - also in the air wouldn't she be more susepable to KB effects?

Heh ive played Champs too.. :D
Also the force of her flight would have to be overcome by the Force of his blast. After all shes not super dense. shes like all of 100 pounds.. maybe.

Yes in Champions you get 1D6 extra KB in the air. ;)

Effects like this are always hard to do. There are ways to render them into the shot but I'm usually not happy with them, so I end up doing it in post most of the time. But those can look like post work if you're not careful. So it's always a struggle.

thats why i try to do rendered effects and post as a mix. :D

Even though she has powers, can she still be bruised or abraded? Might add a new dynamic in the area of fight-management, or in post-fight explanations. "I noticed this morning that you had a black eye, but now it's lunchtime and it looks like it's gone." "Oh, I was just clumsy with my eyeliner. Fixed it during 3rd period break."

I like this page. Yeah, if you're just floating in the air and get caught by a blast unawares, then you really have nothing holding you stationary in space, unless you somehow anticipate the precise force of the blast and compensate. But how to know if the beam is wide and weak, or wide and strong? So it stands to reason that you might get tossed a bit until you regain your composure and stabilize yourself.

And if you are flying without the aid of an engine and you fire a shot, you may get moved backward or you may not. It would be due to how much energy you put into resisting the recoil you've introduced to yourself. Of course, recoil anticipation almost always results in bad aim, so maybe you just recover after taking a shot.

Abby can be bruised by something powerful enough to make her feel pain. Was this powerful enough to cause pain? We shall see in the next couple of pages.

If she doesn't feel pain, she's not going to be bruised. Evidence so far: Fire in issue 1 - destroyed her clothes, but not a mark on her. Homewrecker's neutroniam ball in issue 3 - powerful enough to bring down a building, not a mark on LL.

Can something cause bruises, scratches, etc. Yes. If it overcomes her defenses. She is very resistant to damage, not absolutely invulnerable.

Newbie heroes. She will see this coming next time right?

But Abby has zero combat training, so right now she has a lot to learn about fighting and supervillains.

Also, nothing so far has really hurt her so she's not exactly afraid of anything he can dish out. Whether she was correct not to fear him, well... we shall see.

Ok now I want to punch him in the nose.

The question is, does Abby? Hmm....
